Canal tour

Eelco, of our hosts Bruce & Eelco took us out on a 3 hour tour on their motor boat. Many pictures to follow... In the mean time, check out the last two entries again. I have added more pics and text

Amsterdam Duo

On the morning of Day 2, our next door neighbors from Portland, Eric and Brian arrived. (They send a shout out to Janet and regarding the cat-sitting, please remember to express their anal-glands daily, thx.) Anywho... they met us at our flat and greeted us in Oregonian sign language (read right to left, it says "high"). Coffeeshop Rob&Hans... cheers...

Eventually, we emerged from 69 Marnixkade...

At some point we rented our bikes for the week and went exploring...












We had a late second lunch... deep fried Dutch food mostly. Nothing to sneeze at, but don't tell that to Rob.

From there we moved on to a canal view coffeeshop...
This guy emerged dressed as a bishop. Seems it was a bachelors party...







We moved a view doors down to a "brew pub."





And later to this funky old bar.

Here we're calling on Eric and Brian at their fancy digs...

Ending the day with a good meat (and two veg) dinner...





Late at night as i was preparing this blog, there was a special show on Comedy Central Netherlands. It was called "Badly Dubbed Porn." In tonight's episode, the pirate classic "Coconut Island" was dubbed badly into Dutch.

Amster, damn, it's pretty

I know i've been falling down with the blog. Sometimes, you're just having to much fun to be able to get it all online. We arrived a bit ago in Amsterdam, and this is the current view from our apartment. I'll fill in the (Bruges, Belgium) blanks later, but right now there's a canal and a coffeeshop with our names on 'em.

M&M III

Michael and Michelle, our friends from Portland (whom regular blog readers will also know from such places as Fahrenbach and Zandvoort) tracked us down in Bruges.







Port reception on our back patio, followed by cognac (thanks M&M!) and a light snack of bread and cheese.
