I transferred in Hamburg to a train running 5 minutes late, and thanks to the Deutschen Bummelbahn it was running 20 minutes late by the time i arrived in Husum. Still, no problems meeting up with Birigit's mum, Waltraud. I was just in time for Kaffee & Kuchen, which we took after a short stroll through this lovely North German town.
Husum town square. Waltraud is amazed with my ability to take digital self portaits.
Afternoon Kaffee und Kuchen
Typically the evening meal in Germany is simply bread, cheese and cold cuts. Tonight though Waltraud made a warm supper, as it's asparagus season. (Germany grows a fantastic white asparagus.) Along with potatoes and a mushroom sauce, i thought i had died and gone to heaven. (again! as Irene also made some fabulous white asparagus).

Yo Hans!
My (apologies!) first time checking out the travelog. Looks like you're doing well! Glad the life-size dinosaurs didn't getcha.
Went back to Roots with Opa Jimmy for another pint of Chocolate-Habanero stout. Good stuff. Going to resume acupuncture tomorrow. Annette and Renze send their love, too.
Ciao, Marko
