Save Köpi Street!

As i was walking home today for my Bhutan death march, tour de force visiting all which is most cliché about Berlin, i noticed a bunch of riot cops assembly in my neighborhood. As i emerged from my apartment building, another demonstration was afoot. (German's love to take to the streets.)

Here's a view from my room (as soon as i get these pics uploaded). I have wi-fi internet here, but at the far corner of the block is the Nah-Bar, where (as my friend Dom would say) "there's more crack." In fact the whole neighborhood is full of crack (which is Irish for "stuff going on"). It was also a nice place update my blog while tossing down a few cool ones (and the weather has been fabulous). Rob and i have been keeping in touch via webcam.

I had my "one for the road" at the first pub i checked out the night before. It's laid back and kind of quirky. There's this bizarre diorama the length of one wall. Essentially, it's a bunch of random plastic figures in cave settings. From where i was sitting, i thought a saw a nativity scene with nothing but pigs near the manger. Another grouping had a camel checking out a moose. I met a couple of friendly Aussies here. Tony and Adam (not a couple) will coincidentally be Amsterdam the same week as Rob, myself, Eric, Brian, Michael and Michelle. Anyone else coming along? We can throw a house party!
